If you’ve recently had a property survey carried out and been told that a structural engineer’s report is required, it’s understandable to feel concerned. Many homeowners and buyers immediately assume there must be a serious problem with the property. In reality, that’s often not the case.

This is a typical Structural Engineer’s example report, but shortened for ease of reading. Explanatory notes have been added to assist. A prospective buyer of a terraced property contacted us following a failed mortgage survey. The valuation surveyor was concerned about various cracks inside and out, together with a more general history of movement.
